My Haul from MAC's Divine Night Collection

This collection was pretty large, but I'm on no spend so I only picked up these three lipsticks. The other two lipsticks were just not for me, so I passed.  I'm learning (slowly) that if it isn't for me, or I won't wear it, to leave it behind.  This collection is available online and in stores, and I'm not sure if everything is still available.  I'm certain Private Party (lipstick) is all sold out, but the other shades are still available.

The collection features "special" packaging.  Read: packaging we're going to charge you more for.  So while MAC lipsticks are normally $15, these are $16.50 because of the 'special' packaging.

My Haul from MAC's So Supreme Collection

So I know I said I wasn't originally going to get anything from the So Supreme collection, but I lied.  Sorry.  I ONLY picked up three of the six lipsticks though.  These I picked out because the colors (prior to purchase) looked original, less dupable, and not quite like anything I have in my tiny lipstick collection.  The three I got are: Gotta Dash!, Candy Apple, and Pleasurefruit.  Check out the swatches below.  These lippies have a nice finish and are creamy and fully opaque upon swatching. Sheen supreme lipsticks combine the color quality of a lipstick with the sheen of a lipgloss.  These lippies were certainly very shiny/sheeny like a lipgloss, with good coverage.  The coverage is a bit slippery, so I'd recommend wearing with a liner of some sort.

My favorite out of the three I purchased is Candy Apple.  It reminds me of a lighter, shinier Heaux (from Rihanna's collection).  Gotta Dash! was a bit lighter than I expected, with not fully opaque coverage.  Pleasurefruit is a nice bright pink, but not "rare".  It reminds me of a darker Candy Yum Yum.  Or perhaps a Candy Yum Yum + Girl About Town concoction.

Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12 Hour Lipstick

I've been eyeing these lippies for a while now. Today, while in Ulta I decided to swatch them all. Big mistake. There was one color I was originally dying over, but now I want them alllll! Maybe they'll magically fall out of the sky one day lol. Anywho, the colors are swatched below. Left to right: Pure, Inspired, Playful, Fierce, Wild, Bold, Whimsy, Foxy, Graceful and Enlightened. Oh, these babies were also super creamy and smooth.  These retail at $26 and are available at Ulta, Sephora, and Tarte online.  Check them out here from Sephora.

If I had to pick one, Inspired is the one I've been in love with for ages!

MAC's So Supreme Lip Collection

MAC released, online a new collection last week, "So Supreme".  This collection is a lip only collection.  It's available now online at MAC and Nordstrom.  I'll have to check and see if it is going to be in stores or not. The collection features six lipsticks and eight lipglass tints.  Some of the colors are permanent and some are limited edition.  These lipsticks promise to give you the color of regular lipsticks, plus the shine sheen of lipglass.  The lipglass tints promise high shine with a creamy formula that leaves long lasting color and features pigments that work with the body's temperature for fresh, custom color. The lipsticks retail at $16 and the lipglass tints at $20, a bit different from MAC's regular pricing, but the packaging is a bit different, especially for the lipglass tints.

The Sheen Supreme Lipsticks are:
  1. Candy Apple (midtonal warm plum-LE)
  2. Gotta Dash! (pale clean coral-permanent)
  3. Playtime (bright coral pink-LE)
  4. Pleasurefruit (bright warm pink-LE)
  5. Sweet Grenadine (bright orange-LE)
  6. Pret-A-Pretty (soft warm pink-LE)

The Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tints are:
  1. K-Wow (soft cool pink-LE)
  2. Bubble Gum (soft warm pink-LE)
  3. Simply Wow (midtonal cool mauve-LE)
  4.  Heart & Soul (warm peach-LE)
  5. Kiss, Kiss (cool peach cream-LE)
  6. Gyi-Yo-Mi (midtonal raspberry-LE)
  7. Blushing Berry (midtonal cool red-LE)
  8. Glorious Intent (warm plum-LE)

MAC All About Orange--SWATCHES (FINALLY)!!

Check out the pictures below...I know I bought these a week or two ago, but I never got around to swatching them for you guys (IE I haven't opened them up until this point lol).  This is a really beautiful collection with beautiful colors..check out my earlier post for the details on the All About Orange collection.  Unfortunately, most of the items are likely sold out by now, but here are swatches just for you to reference.  Keep in mind that these lipsticks, due to their finishes and light pigmentation, are likely to look different on people with different pigmented lips and different colors.  I'm a medium deep skin tone (deep tan) so these lippies probably don't show up the same as they would with someone who has light or light to medium skin.  Anywho, see below.  I promise that everyday this week I will try and wear one of these all day, so you can see a full face of makeup/lipstick instead of just the small swatch.  It might help provide a better insight into the color of these.

The lipstick collection consisted of 7 lipsticks, 3 cremesheen glosses, 3 blush and 4 nail polish.  I never really purchase the nail polish, and out of this collection I bought 5 lipsticks, 1 cremesheen and 1 blush.  The two lipsticks I didn't buy were Neon Orange (it's part of the permanent pro collection, I can always get it later down the line when it's back in stock...and its super bright, brighter than Sounds of Noise from the Haley Williams collection) and Tangerine Dream (weird yellowy orange color, I did not like the way it looked on me, it was sort of grainy/sparkly and just not really appealing to me).  The only blush I got was Royal Sunset, a pretty blush with pinky undertones.  Immortal Sunset was a bit too light for me, and Honey Jasmine was pretty, but on me it looked "dirty" if that makes sense.  I picked up 1 of the cremesheen glosses, but I'm returning it lol so I didn't post it.  I forgot (when buying) that I'm not a fan of the cremesheen glosses...they're $20 and you get less product than the $15 lipglass, with a worse finish (in my opinion).  I like the lipsticks, but my faves are probably Sushi Kiss and Tart & Trendy (ironically, the ones that showed the most).

The 5 lipsticks I bought are (LEFT TO RIGHT):  Sweet & Sour (cremesheen), Razzle-Dazzler (lustre), Flamingo (lustre), Sushi Kiss (satin), Tart & Trendy (lustre).

Updated (again)!!! Wet 'n' Wild Lipsticks

Look at these beauties I picked up at Rite Aid last night! Four Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks, one of which is supposed to be a new color.  I haven't used Wet 'n' Wild lip products in ages, but I was walking past the stand and this brown color called out to me. They were priced at a super affordable $1.99, so I picked up four.  Can you believe when I went to the register they rang up for only $1.29? I got all four for less than the cost of an extra value meal LOL!  Anywho, check out the pics below.  These babies have fully opaque color, are creamy and apply smooth, AND have no scent! Or at least no perfume-y scent that will deter potential buyers.  These were a great find, and I'm excited to try the Wet 'n' Wild glosses later this week. These lipsticks aren't drying either, which is good.  According to the promo advertisement, these babies are supposed to last up to 4 hours (before needing to reapply).  That's not too shabby..depending on the MAC lipstick finish, they last anywhere from 3-6 hours roughly.

The colors, top to bottom are: 916D (no name, the new color), 908C Sugar Plum Fairy, 914C Mocha-Licious, 902C Bare It All.

Update!!!! I went back to the store tonight and picked up the two reds that i didn't pick yesterday.  Same formula as the others... Check out the pic below. I am so excited with my Wet N Wild purchase!!!

6-10-13 Update. I went to pick a couple up for a friend, and wound up picking three more.  Shame on me! Anywho, there is another picture below with the new three.  Very pretty colors..I will admit though that when applying these swatches, there was a bit of "pull and tug" with these...not sure if these are the new formula or old, but they were a bit harder to work with.

MAC's Myth Lipstick

I stopped at the CCO in Aurora Farms today. (If you don't know what a CCO is, check out my earlier post here.  I went in for one thing only and that's MAC's Myth lipstick.  I thought I picked it up on my last trip, but I must have put it down by accident.  Anywho, Myth is a really popular color and it's part of MAC's permanent line, so you can find it anywhere they sell MAC.  I've got some swatches below.  I think its a really pretty nude color that will pair up with other lipsticks quite well.  I'm thinking sometime this weekend I'm going to do a swatch of all my nudes for comparison.  Keep in mind I have tan skin, so nudes won't look the same on me as they might on fairer or darker skin.

Tomorrow's the Big Day! Don't Forget!!

Tomorrow, June 6th marks the date that the second installment of the RiRi <3's MAC collection will be available online.  If interested, you have to act quickly.  The last collection sold out in THREE HOURS!  I'm personally excited for the Heaux and RiRi Boy lippies!! Might pick up the blush, but I'm going to pass on the lustre drops.  There's just too much to buy with too little money, lol. Especially since I want a couple lippies from the All About Orange collection, which will be available in stores tomorrow as well.

MAC's Temperature Rising Mini-Haul

Today I received the lipstick and lipglass I ordered from MAC that were part of the Temperature Rising collection.  I also ordered another lipstick and blush from Nordstrom (that were sold out at MAC) that should be delivered Friday and I will update this post.

I received the Altered Beige lipstick (a Lustre finish) and the Liquid Passion lipglass.  They are nudeish neutral colors, very pretty and soft.  Lustre finish lipsticks aren't my favorite...for me they don't apply the best.  They look "wet" sometimes, so the good thing is that you don't need a lipgloss if you're one of those people who always likes a shiny/shimmery lip. Sometime the lustre finish lipsticks settle in the lines of my lips, which makes application look uneven.  Either way, the color is pretty and sheer, I'm sure it would flatter many skin tones.  I actually think I'll discuss my skin tone in a separate post.

Below are a couple of pics, I will update once I get the other lipstick and blush!

Lipglass: liquid passion.  Lipstick: altered beige.

Nordstrom Mini Haul (with FREE samples!)

Last week when I was doing some Mother's Day shopping I stopped at the MAC counter and was informed that the following weekend (today) they were having an event.  With the event they were giving away gift bags/boxes with free samples with a purchase.  For MAC I don't think there was a minimum purchase amount, so I just got 2 lipsticks and a lipglass I had been eyeing.  I prepaid and all I had to do was pick it up today.  Glad I did because it was a zoo.  Makeup chairs everywhere in the beauty department, so many people. Ugh.  I like to shop in peace and quiet, when I can have an associate's undivided attention.

So the box the samples came in is pretty cool, a super sturdy matte black box.  I'm actually glad I got this over a bag because for my trip to Cali, I could put my travel makeup in the box and not be super worried that it will be damaged at the airport.  It is really really tough. I listed the samples below, and I got a few Gucci Guilty because they know it's my current fave and I'm not ready to shell out a ton of money on perfume when I don't wear it too often.

The items I picked up were MAC lipstick in Viva Glam II (satin finish-a light brownish purplish color) and Creme Cup (a cremesheen finish--a soft, light pink) and a lipglass in Viva Glam V.  There are sample pics below.

Free samples from my gift box:

  • Thierry Mugler Alien eau de parfum
  • Gucci Guilty eau de toilette
  • Diptyque Eau Rose eau de toilette
  • MAC Mineralize Volcanic Ash Exfoliator (super excited to try this--heard good things)
  • MAC Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara
  • MAC Tan and Rose Pigment

MAC Pro Lip Palette: 6 Preferred Pinks

I picked this palette up online a couple of weeks ago.  I bought it because it had two shades I was really interested in (Show Orchid and Violetta) and for the price, you get 6 different colors, so I found it to be a value.  The cost was $40, and MAC's individual lipsticks are $15 apiece.  You don't get as much lipstick as a full tube, but lipstick lasts forever so I found it to be worth the price.  Anywho, below are some pics of the palette and swatches.  The colors are gorgeous! I personally feel they could have used something other than Pretty Please as it barely shows and you have to literally put on four layers--but it would probably show better on someone with a lighter complexion, like NC20 or so.  On me, however, it doesn't show up too well.  If you don't know about MAC's lipstick finishes, here's a good article to break down the finishes for you.  Show Orchid and Violetta are definently the standouts.  Super bright and pigmented.  However, for me, the silent standout is Creme de la Femme.  I would have never picked this color up on its own, but its super creamy and an overall great pink, versatile for day (work) or night (play).

The colors: left to right: Pretty Please (lustre), Please Me (matte), Lovelorn (lustre), Creme de la Femme (frost), Show Orchid (amplified), and Violetta (amplified).

Swatches: Left to Right: Violetta, Show Orchid, Creme de la Femme, Lovelorn, Please Me, and Pretty Please.

Available at MAC Online (Pro section--but anyone can order)...check it out here.  I hope to get the Preferred Plums palette next! Looks divine!

RiRi Woo

Today was the official release date (in the U.S., tomorrow internationally) of Rihanna's lipstick collaboration with Mac Cosmetics, RiRi Woo.  RiRi Woo is said to be inspired by Mac's best-selling Ruby Woo, a perfect matte red lipstick.  There are similarities between the two, but RiRi Woo is said to be more blue-based, meaning that it will likely live up to its promise of flattering women of all shades.

I had to update this at 3:45pm to state that its officially sold out online! Wow.  Next collection release will be in June, and the lipstick is supposed to be a part of each collection.  So if you missed out, there are a couple more opportunities to snatch this limited edition lipstick up!  Can't wait until mine come in the mail!!
