Sephora Give Me Some Lip-Sampler

I picked this up during my Sephora haul a couple of weeks back.  I meant to go into details about it then, but I temporarily misplaced it lol! Found it last night.  Anywho, this value packed lip set is a Sephora special, retails for $25.  The set contains a full sized Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Lustre in Glitzy (retails for $24 alone) and sample sizes of Nars Turkish Delight lip gloss, Buxom Dolly lip gloss, Laura Mercier Bare Pink lipgloss, Sugar Rose fresh lip treatment, and Bite's lip pencil in Rhubarb.  Overall, I think this is a great value.  I mean, you don't always need full sized lip gloss.  How long would it take you to get through your entire lip collection? Probably forever.  Anywho, it's great for people who aren't really into lipstick or lip gloss, but want to try something new.  The range of pinks are flattering for most people, and can be paired together or worn alone for sheerer color. Pick this up if you get a chance! Check out the pics below!

NOTD: Nail of the Day

Today I went to one of my staples: a nice deep pink by Orly called Elsbeth's Rose. It is a beautiful color, and I like Orly's formula...this bottle is older, and its not thick or clumpy like my China Glaze polishes.  Its still new, and applies without super heavy streaking.  I know it's boring, but I was super tired tonight and True Blood premiered tonight.  MY LIFE IS NOW COMPLETE!!!! ERIC NORTHMAN!!!!!!!!!

NOTD: Nail of the Day

I painted my nails using China Glaze's Dance Baby polish. It's a niec bright light pink.  I like China Glaze's polish formula, but I've noticed over time that once the polish isn't brand new and has sat for a couple months, it becomes super thick, clumpy, and stringy.  It gives me a total case of the sads considering the fact that China Glaze has a great range of colors, from neutrals to brights.  Anywho, China Glaze is available at Sally's, and it's super affordable, especially if you catch one of the buy one get one free sales or other sales that Sally often has.  I know this post isn't super interesting...but I realized I had 66 posts and I hate the number 66 so I had to hurry and do a 67 lol.  Here's a picture below (ignore the fact that I turned the bottle in the wrong direction lol...it was super late).  I promise I'll do a better nail tomorrow and post new pics.

MAC Pro Lip Palette: 6 Preferred Pinks

I picked this palette up online a couple of weeks ago.  I bought it because it had two shades I was really interested in (Show Orchid and Violetta) and for the price, you get 6 different colors, so I found it to be a value.  The cost was $40, and MAC's individual lipsticks are $15 apiece.  You don't get as much lipstick as a full tube, but lipstick lasts forever so I found it to be worth the price.  Anywho, below are some pics of the palette and swatches.  The colors are gorgeous! I personally feel they could have used something other than Pretty Please as it barely shows and you have to literally put on four layers--but it would probably show better on someone with a lighter complexion, like NC20 or so.  On me, however, it doesn't show up too well.  If you don't know about MAC's lipstick finishes, here's a good article to break down the finishes for you.  Show Orchid and Violetta are definently the standouts.  Super bright and pigmented.  However, for me, the silent standout is Creme de la Femme.  I would have never picked this color up on its own, but its super creamy and an overall great pink, versatile for day (work) or night (play).

The colors: left to right: Pretty Please (lustre), Please Me (matte), Lovelorn (lustre), Creme de la Femme (frost), Show Orchid (amplified), and Violetta (amplified).

Swatches: Left to Right: Violetta, Show Orchid, Creme de la Femme, Lovelorn, Please Me, and Pretty Please.

Available at MAC Online (Pro section--but anyone can order)...check it out here.  I hope to get the Preferred Plums palette next! Looks divine!
